Actions Speak Louder Than Words: Writing Engaging Characters
Actions Speak Louder Than Words: Writing Engaging Characters
Dialogue isn't the only tool a writer has to build interesting characters. How a character acts reveals just as much about them and can be a valuable tool to move a story forward.
Join Allegory Editing founder Andrea Karin Nelson for an in-depth look at character action and motivation.
In this class, we examine what social science teaches us about the reasons behind people's actions and how we can apply that knowledge to writing fully-realized characters whose actions move the story forward and reveal truths about themselves and their relationships. You will learn tools for using action to create dynamic characters that catch the eye of agents and publishers.
