Crafting Dynamic Dialogue Through the Lens of Character Relationships
Crafting Dynamic Dialogue Through the Lens of Character Relationships
It's not just what a character says, it's how they say it. The way people talk changes based on where they are, what they're doing, and who they're speaking with. Tapping into these nuances is key to creating dynamic dialogue.
Join Allegory Editing founder and executive editor Andrea Karin Nelson as she discusses how to craft dialogue through the lens of character relationships.
In this class, we examine the impact that circumstances and relationships have on word choice, formality, and speech patterns. Attendees will learn tools for real-world observation and how to reflect their findings in finely-tuned dialogue that will catch the eye of agents and publishers.
