The Foundation of Plot
The Foundation of Plot
Every manuscript has a foundation. This is true regardless of the form or genre, and regardless of whether it’s fiction, memoir, or narrative nonfiction.
Understanding how plot functions helps writers produce stronger manuscripts. A solid plot foundation energizes a failing beginning, solidifies a sagging middle, and produces a satisfying ending.
Unable to finish a manuscript? Use plot foundation as a guide to fill in plot holes or to help push through a first draft.
Join developmental editor and author Elena Hartwell Taylor to learn how to produce a stronger draft.
