The Skeleton of a Good Story
The Skeleton of a Good Story
Just as a skeleton holds a body’s shape, a story also needs an underlying structure. While story structure can take numerous forms, there are universal concepts which make up the framework for novels, memoirs, and narrative nonfiction. Understanding and applying these concepts is vital to creating a strong manuscript.
Join senior developmental editor Elena Hartwell Taylor as she explores why even talented writers can fail without a solid underlying structure to their projects. Participants will learn to dissect their own works-in-progress and unearth the full potential of their material. Learn to strengthen everything from first drafts to polished manuscripts. Create dynamic beginnings, bolster sagging middles, and discover what makes a satisfying end.
